  • Designed and built all 18 levels.

  • Composed 4 tracks for the game.

  • Designed and created all sound effects for the game.

  • Wrote all descriptions for the game.

  • Implemented objects into Godot.

Wow really interesting! You managed to pull off 15 puzzles which is very cool, I struggled with all the options to decide what to use!

Challenges Faced:

  • Team Member Coordination: Some team members didn’t have an accurate understanding of just how short the deadline was, which caused them to fall behind. I was able to meet with them and get them back on track by modifying objectives outlined in our game design document to account for the reduced development time.

  • Complexity and Scope of Project: While not a terribly complex project, I assumed a large amount of the workload. To delegate my time efficiently, I made sure I was always working on something during the working period, even if that meant swapping from one thing to another to relieve creative fatigue.

Design Considerations:

  • Variable solutions: Each level is designed with more than one solution in mind. This gives the player more agency in how they choose to play the game, letting them use their preferred tools to progress.

  • Learn by playing: Each of the levels is designed to teach the player a different thing about each powerup. This circumvents the need for a traditional tutorial, which gives more time for the core gameplay to shine.

  • Puzzle over platforming: There is more emphasis in the level design placed on ‘solving’ the level, rather than having very accurate jumping or running, which greatly increases accessibility amongst players. Both players who specialize in platforming, and those who prefer a more relaxed puzzle experience can progress at a similar rate.

Really cool game I appreciate you guys working in 3D too! I would say the strong points for me that I noticed were the mechanics, puzzles, and I also just thought the music was pretty catchy. Also really cool that you made a lot of levels, I only got to making 3 in my game lol.
